Elyssa Gersen

Director of Work Wellness, The HOPE Program

Elyssa Gersen is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and has worked in social services since 1991. She is the Director of Work Wellness at The HOPE Program, a NYC based workforce development community-based organization. The HOPE Program, which started in 1984, Empowers New Yorkers to build sustainable futures through comprehensive training, jobs, advancement and lifelong career support. They combine classroom work readiness training with internships and then provide job placement and career advancement. Elyssa oversees the work wellness services, including mental health support, clinical case management, retention, and advancement. She has extensive experience in social services including clinical and administrative management, program design and implementation, individual counseling group facilitation, case management, promoting employee wellness, and fieldwork supervision for graduate students.
