Jo'rell Whitfield
Founder and Chief Operating Officer, I Am Perspective
Jo’rell is an international spoken word artist, poet, playwright, and author. In 2017 he co-created I Am Perspective, a social community platform serving the community through dialogue, workshops, and trainings, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer since inception. As an artist Jo’rell has traveled and performed in the 50 states, as well as several countries abroad teaching the importance and value of expression. As a founder of I Am Perspective he’s curated over 200 events and led thousands of conversations around the country in efforts to help people shift perspectives and foster empathy. In five years he has hosted over 150 IAP events in three different cities bringing meaningful conversation to schools, institutions, communities, and the workplace. Jo’rell also serves as a mentor for Brothers at Peace, one of RECOUP-NY’s early community partners. Through mentorship and educational programs, Brothers at Peace strives to help at-risk youth realize their full potential as responsible citizens and leaders.
