Chynere Best, PhD is a Senior Research Associate in the Global Mental Health Equity Lab at George Washington University. She received her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Howard University. Chynere has experience in curriculum development for an NIDDK funded program for minority researchers and translating research into practical fact sheets, tip tools and other resources for public consumption as part of the American Psychological Association's racial and ethnic socialization (RESilience) Initiative. She has also edited, transcribed, and crafted continuing education materials based on clinically relevant content produced in various forms of media for professional and public consumption. Immediately prior to joining GWU, Chynere taught various undergraduate psychology courses at several universities in the DC area. Chynere's research interests focus on the impact of family dynamics, particularly communication, on various health risk behaviors and coping strategies displayed by emerging adults of Caribbean descent.
